Dearly Departed Postcards

Honour the passing of your ancestor with these woodburned Dearly Departed Post Cards. The listing photos provide a personal example of how you can choose the last words your relative said to you or a common phrase that you remember fondly, with a simple image you associate with them. This postcard will also include the woodburned stamp featured in the upper right hand corner, the name and living years of your ancestor, as well as the black metal stand for displaying. I was inspired by the traditional celebrations of Samhain and Dia De Los Muertos  to create this offering as a way for you to commemorate the life of your dearly departed ancestor in a way that might make you smile in remembrance of the impact they had on your life. This is also offered as a way of processing grief and the profound sadness we experience when we lose someone we so deeply love. 

The postcard measures 9.5cm by 13.5cm. 

The personal example above is taken from a song my Grandfather would sing when I was in the car with him as a child and he would take me to go get ice cream. I also added little doodles that are related to his career as a high school science teacher.
