Witchy, where-to-starts.
Can I take a moment to talk about my first ever witchcraft book? I think I was 12-years-old and The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation Solitary Witch (whew) by Silver Ravenwolf was my lifeline to magick. For many witches, Silver Ravenwolf is somewhat of a witchy Mother and let me tell you, this is a tome of occult knowledge — it will always be my first recommendation to any witch’s library, new to the craft or otherwise. Packed full of all the magical correspondences, divination tools and descriptions, astrology, baking recipes, crystal associations, folklore, origin stories, basic spells…there really isn’t a better BOS to get you started. I can still remember being a teenager and doing one of the money spells found in this book, and then finding money at the movies that night — I was hooked. Now, as a mostly adult witch, I always come back to this book and will actively replace copies I’ve lost or have given away. This book is where it began and where I will always come back to…maybe it can be that for you.
